83rd Sachsenring Cycle Race: Jakob Schmidt secures victory with strong solo

At the traditional 83rd West Saxony Classic, MYVELO Pro Cycling rider Jakob Schmidt was able to win the elite race. In a thrilling race over a total of 20 laps, covering a distance of 70 kilometers on the legendary Sachsenring, Schmidt confidently prevailed against strong competition.

An exciting race

The race began with small groups trying to break away, but they were unable to gain a decisive gap to the field. It was not until 13 laps before the end that a four-man group managed to break away from the main field. Just one lap later, Schmidt and seven other riders caught up with the leading group. The lead over the main field grew rapidly, and it became clear that the victory would be fought out between the riders at the front.
