The classic “Grote Prijs Stad Halle”

On Sunday, the UCI category 1.2 race took place for the MYVELO Procycling Team. The route covered 179 kilometers and 2800 meters of elevation and led over the two historic climbs Pruine But and Stollenberg.

Tactical plan and early misfortune: A tough start for the team

The team's tactics were geared towards having four riders actively represented in the groups and protecting Meo Amann for the sprint. Unfortunately, the team from Oberkirch lost two riders to falls in the first few kilometers of the race. Fortunately, Jakob Schmidt is fine and has not broken any bones. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to be able to count on him again in the next few weeks.

As the race progressed, the field split into many groups. Miron Lipp and Timon Loderer showed an active race, while a chase developed between the different groups. The MYVELO Procycling Team presented itself offensively and finally managed to place Meo Amann in the leading group.

Amann secures 46th place

In the battle for the top positions, the climbers were too strong for the MYVELO sprinter on the last crossing of the Stollenberg. Nevertheless, Amann fought his way to the finish and achieved a respectable position in the front part of the field with 46th place.
