E-bikes and caravans simply belong together. Exploring the world, reaching remote places and enjoying your independence - that's what the caravan is all about. Whether you're on the go to the bakery, into town or taking a trip around the lake, the e-bike is perfect for that.

It is therefore not surprising that in recent years more and more people have been travelling in their motorhomes and the popularity of e-bikes is constantly reaching new records. So what could be more obvious than to combine both forms of individual mobility? This is precisely why we at myvèlo and the Freiburg-based company Südcaravan will be cooperating in the future.

"In the future, we will also be able to offer our customers electric MTBs, trekking and folding bikes from MYVELO," says Bastian Boch, co-managing director at SĂĽdcaravan. This means that motorhomes and e-bikes can be perfectly coordinated. "Our product range has the right e-bike for every application," says Fabian Huber from MYVELO. "Our folding bikes in particular are perfect for traveling and can be easily accommodated in most motorhomes."

Exploring the surroundings with the E-Klappi

By this, Fabian means the Rio, Palma, Berlin and Zurich folding e-bikes , which are even more geared towards travel and riding fun this season. The small pack size, ease of use and comfort make the folding bikes loyal companions that no camper wants to be without. "Campers like to take their e-bike with them on trips, but want to leave their toolbox at home," says Fabian. "That's why we opted for an easy-to-use folding mechanism."

The 4 models are equipped with a maintenance-free 250 watt Bafang rear hub motor and a Samsung lithium-ion battery with 750 wh. Enough power to explore the surrounding area, but also enough endurance for a day trip.

How exactly the folding mechanism works and which bike garage the e-bikes are suitable for can be seen and tried out directly in the SĂĽdcaravan halls. The company has made a name for itself with the sale and rental of mobile homes for more than 50 years.

Traveling with a roof over your head is becoming increasingly popular and has received an additional boost from the corona pandemic, with people increasingly taking e-bikes with them. "For our customers, a bike is simply part of a successful vacation," says Bastian Boch. "In addition to quality and performance, one aspect in particular is important when making a selection: how can the e-bike be stored in the camper. That's why it makes sense to present the e-bikes directly in our sales halls. With MYVELO, we have found the right partner in the region for this."

E-MTBs and E-Trekking bikes for more ambitious campers

In addition to the two e-folding bikes Rio and Palma, SĂĽdcaravan customers will also see other models from the MYVELO range, the right bike for every caravan. In 2021, Vincent and Fabian initiated the next step of MYVELO and now also offer e-trekking bikes and e-MTBs under their own label. For example, the e-MTB Himalaya with the Steps EP8 mid-engine , Shimano's most powerful e-bike drive, or the trekking e-bike Milano with Shimano Steps E6100 drive.

Incidentally, the E-MTBs in the Equipped version also have a sturdy luggage rack and powerful lighting with road traffic approval, from our own manufacturer.

This also meets the needs of campers who want a little more power, endurance and sportiness. The e-bikes are very light at around 20 to 25 kilograms and are easy to store and ideally even stow in the bike garage that many campers have.

Depending on the model, they can also be recharged there directly without having to remove the battery. If there is not enough space inside, a rear carrier can be used, which can accommodate up to three e-bikes depending on the size and permissible total weight. The best way to store the MYVELO bikes can be clarified directly with the competent advisors at SĂĽdcaravan.

So nothing stands in the way of an active holiday with a caravan and e-bike.
