Myvelo in the middle of “Rund um Köln”
On May 27, 2024, the traditional German cycling race Rund um Köln was scheduled for the German Continental Team Myvelo.
As in previous years, the 106th edition of the cycling race was packed with the strongest teams in the world. Among others, Visma-Lease a Bike (team of two-time Tour champion Jonas Vingegaard), Bora-Hansgrohe and Alpecin-Deceuninck (team of current world champion Mathieu van der Poel) were at the start.
The race was 194.8 km through the Bergisches Land region over the most challenging terrain. The executioners of this race were the Agathaberg with gradients of up to 27% and the cobbled Bensberg. Several hundred thousand people stood at both hotspots and along the route. A true cycling festival.
After almost five hours of racing, Timon Loderer , Jacob Schmidt and Miron Lipp finished the race in a chasing group.
"We had planned to be part of the group of the day. Despite a lot of effort from the whole team and many attacks, we only just missed it. In the meantime, we had even started chasing the group. We are now looking ahead to our first tour of the year, in preparation for the German Championships in 4 weeks."
